DOCUMENTS FOR STUDY ABROAD - the list
This is a list of all the documents you MAY need to study abroad. Each country and university has different requirements, and regulations change frequently. Check with your university and the embassy of the country you want to go to which of the following documents you will need.
Your passport must be undamaged and have a validity date of at least 18 months.
Register at the Visa Center According to the Destination Country
Each country has a visa center to handle visa applications. You can directly access it via the internet to find out what information and documents are needed. After that, you can also directly register and submit documents online as well as schedule interviews and document verification meetings.

(LOA) Official letter issued by a university abroad that you have been accepted as a student.

You need this certificate, even on the minimum level, to show that you understand English, even if it is not the language of the country where you are studying, but English is the language you must mastered.
Depends of your situation you can get your birth certificate from Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil), or from Indonesian Embassy if you are abroad.
By the requirements from university, your Birth Certificate will need to be legalized before apply, or not.
You can make an SKCK by going directly to the Polsek, Polres, or Polda Metro Jaya and bringing the necessary documents.
For study in Masters or Doctoral programs abroad, you should also prepare a letter of recommendation from the previous university.
The motivation letter must demonstrate your ability to do well at the institution and must include an evaluation of your skills as well as your accomplishments.

Form I-20A-B, Certificate of Eligibility for Non-immigrant (F-1) Student Status-For Academic and Language Programs, or Form I-20 M-N, Certificate of Eligibility for Non-immigrant (M-1) Student Status for Vocational Programs . You will need to submit a SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) issued form, i.e. an I-20 form, which will be provided by the institution where you are accepted. Your institution must sign the form.
The SAT test is used to assess prospective students’ ability in their first year of college by testing their math and verbal skills.
The ACT test is used to assess high school graduates’ readiness to participate in lecture material, which will cover four study areas: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Scientific Reasoning.
You should inquire to your university for the necessary tests.
For study in Masters or Doctoral programs abroad, you should also prepare a letter of recommendation from the previous university.

- The national exam (UN) has been canceled since 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The UN will be replaced by the National Assessment (AN).
- If you don’t have Certificate SKHUN/SHUN or National Assessment, you can use your Diploma SMA/SMK and transcript of records.
Understand the distinction between Certificate SKHUN/SHUN, National Assessment, Diploma SMA/SMK and Transcript of Records:
1. Certificate SKHUN/SHUN
Certificate of National Examination Results (SKHUN). SKHUN is a document that is a substitute for a temporary diploma. SKHUN is issued to make it easier for students to complete documents that are one of the requirements for enrollment at the next level of education
2. National Assessment
National Assessment is an evaluation program organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture to improve the quality of education by photographing the inputs, processes and outputs of learning in all educational units.
3. Diploma SMA/ Diploma SMK
A diploma is a document given to graduates of academic education and vocational education as acknowledgment of academic achievement and/or completion of an accredited study program held by a tertiary institution.
4. Transcript of records
Transcripts of records are a collection of scores that you have taken starting from semester one until you finished school
DOCUMENTS for study abroad - TRANSLATION
There are several documents from the list above that you must translate first.
The Documents should be translated into the language of the country where the university is located.
If you want to study in an English-speaking country, your documents must be translated into English. If your document is already in English, it doesn’t need to be translated.
If you want to study in a non-English speaking country, your documents must be translated into the language used in that country.

2. Notary Legalization
In case your document is signed by the official who is not on the MInistry list, or will need to make Apostille based on the scan/photocopy – not original documents.

3. Apostille Process
